Are you planning a golf tournament? Want to do something a little different? Tired of the old standard tournament ideas?

Look no further than this article! Try one of these exciting and fun ways to get your tournament on the map!

Bad Pants

Invite your guests to wear their worst (or best worst) golf pants during the tournament. You can then have prizes for the best, worst, and most creative outfit. This will get your golfers talking about the tournament, plus it's a great opportunity for photos and social media-worthy shares for later.

Wig for the Cause

Rally your tournament guests to wear “wigs” during their round of golf and each wig will generate a $5 donation to the American Cancer Society. You can help those in need as you promote your fundraiser. Get a sponsor to pay for each wig worn to generate more funds! Or try asking a local pub, bank, or real estate agent to match $5 to every donation.

Taste of … (fill in your name here)

Generating new ideas each year for a themed tournament can be exhausting. At Oakhurst, each year we promote our "Taste of Oakhurst" golf outing, where we host a different culinary or specialty beverage on every other hole of the course. Players get to "taste" their way through the course, and this has become a popular event that Members and tournament participants look forward to each year. You can offer nibbles of food or sips of spirits on the course. Get local restaurants or pubs to host a hole and promote their products during your golf outing.

Success to any tournament is planning and promoting… check out all the other ideas available here weekly!
