When it comes to tournament pricing, it is wise to look at a price that not only covers your “hard costs,” but is also attractive to players and sponsors. Here are 5 helpful tips to consider when setting the per person prices for your tournament.

Factor in the Marketing Costs

This includes printing, email marketing systems, and any social media costs. These need to be calculated on top of your green fee and cart fee costs.

Obtain Donated Prizes

Instead of spending any part of your budget on prizes, try and cover the cost of the prizes or goodies by having them donated.

Get Your Golf Carts Sponsored

Let your sponsors know that their logo and name can be on the cart plate, in full view of the golfers for 4+ hours. Push getting your golf carts sponsored to cut back on the per player tournament cost.

Set a Low Dedicated Donation Amount

Though it's usually a good idea to calculate a set donation amount within the player fee so that you collect a bit from each registrant, you don't want to set the donation amount so high that it discourages people from signing up. $20-25 is a good amount to keep your player fee attractive.

Offer Early Bird Pricing

Offset the earlier costs of marketing and ensure a larger field by offering Early Bird pricing for your players and sponsors. This not only helps you out financially, but it also gives your players more time to encourage their friends and colleagues to sign up.
