The Awards Ceremony - Inside the Banquet Room

Are you planning a tournament awards ceremony or auction, and want to make it special? Here are some ideas on how to make the experience memorable, fun, and interactive for all who participate. The ceremony will not only become more than just an event where people sit and watch people give acceptance speeches, but it will get people talking and make them more enthusiastic to be a part of next year’s tournament.

Darts

Hold a darts tournament, and create a bracket system to make it more competitive. You could even hold prizes for those at the top of the bracket. For a non-traditional setup, create a Balloon Bust dart game, where the balloons have raffle tickets inside.

Mini Golf/Putting

Create an indoor mini golf experience for your participants, including obstacles and greens. You could also set-up a more traditional putting green inside the banquet hall, depending on your budget.

Beer Pong

Use buckets, and giant Ping Pong balls to set-up the friendly boozy game in ‘giant’ form, or just do it the old fashioned way with plastic cups and regular sized Ping Pong balls.

Casino-Theme

Hold a casino night-themed table, complete with fake money, and prizes. The prizes could be from the pro shop, or discounts on their next game. You can set up a small Black Jack table, or a Roulette Wheel. You can create chips with prizes on them, or color-scheme them according to what prize you can get. To add to the ambiance, have your dealer wear an old-fashioned casino vest!

Games

There is a plethora of old-fashioned games you could bring to kick in the nostalgic feel. If you want an arcade theme, you could even have Pac Man cookies, and décor along with the game, or Mario Brother’s theme, complete with Mario ring cupcakes, a Yoshi bean bag toss, and chocolate coins.
